About Cielo Gold

We are a small California seller of fine gold and natural-diamond jewelry, and a few pre-owned luxury watches. Everything on this site is one specific object that we own, photographed as it actually is, priced without a showroom to pay for.

What we sell, and what we don't

Solid gold — 10k, 14k and 18k — set with natural diamonds and coloured stones, plus a small rotation of pre-owned watches. Chains, bracelets, rings, earrings and pendants that are meant to be worn rather than kept in a drawer for an occasion that never comes.

We do not sell gold-filled, gold-plated or vermeil, and we do not sell lab-grown diamonds described as natural. If a stone is treated, the listing says so and says what the treatment means for how you care for the piece. One of our bands is set with heated, glass-filled rubies; that is written on the listing in plain language, because a buyer finds out eventually and it should be from us.

Every piece is owned outright

Nothing here is on consignment and nothing is drop-shipped. We buy each piece and pay for it before it is listed — from private sellers, from estates, from established trade sources. That matters to you for two reasons. It means the price is not carrying a consignor's expectations on top of ours, and it means when you buy, the piece is already in a safe in Fullerton rather than somewhere in a supply chain we are hoping will deliver.

One of one, and why the listing comes down

Each listing is a single object. The photographs are of that exact piece, not a representative sample and never a stock image. When something sells, the listing stays up marked sold so the record of what it was and what it cost remains, but it cannot be bought again and we will not offer you "one like it" — there isn't one.

This is also why we do not offer exchanges. There is nothing to swap a piece for. What we do offer instead is on the returns page, and it is the part that costs us money rather than the part that costs you money.

How a piece is checked before it is listed

1. Metal. Gold is acid- and electronically tested for karat and weighed on a calibrated scale. The gram weight on the listing is the weight we measured, not the weight the previous owner told us.
2. Stones. Diamonds and coloured stones are examined under magnification and checked for treatment. Carat weights taken from a mount rather than a loose stone are estimates and the listing says when that is the case.
3. Watches. The caseback comes off. Calibre and serial are checked against the reference, the movement is timed, the case and bracelet are examined for polishing and replacement parts.
4. Written down. Condition is described honestly, including the flaws, and anything we have not independently verified is labelled as such rather than quietly implied.

The guarantee behind it

Authentication guaranteed. Every piece is verified before it ships. If anything we sell is ever shown not to be genuine, we refund the full purchase price. No time limit. Take anything we sold you to any authorised dealer, independent watchmaker or certified gemologist you like. If it is not what we said it was, you get every dollar back.

We do not display review counts, press logos or trade-body badges. We have not earned them yet and borrowing them would be the fastest way to deserve none of your trust. What we can offer is a named company at a real address, a written condition report on every piece, and a guarantee with no expiry date on it.

Where we are

Merch Troop LLC operates out of Fullerton, California, in Orange County. We work by appointment rather than from a retail showroom, so there is no counter to walk up to — but local collection in Orange County is available, and if you would rather see a piece in person before wiring for it, ask and we will arrange a time and place.

Most of what goes wrong in a jewelry purchase online is a question that never got asked: how long is the chain really, how does 42 grams sit on a collarbone, will this ring size down. We would far rather answer that before you buy than process a return after. Every listing carries a form, and so does the contact page.
